Before we even get to the FAQ, I want you to know that your house
is not too messy for Folded.
In fact, one of the most common things we hear from new clients is, "Please don't judge the mess!!"
I promise, we don't care how much laundry is piled up. We don't care if the closets are packed so full that opening them feels like a safety hazard. We don't care if the playroom looks like a toy store exploded. We've seen it all, and we are simply here to help!
As a working mom myself, I started Folded because I couldn't keep up either. What I've learned is that behind almost every household is a mom doing their very best while juggling work, kids, activities, appointments, meals, and a never-ending mental checklist.
There is NEVER judgment here, only an extra set of hands. 💛 If your home feels overwhelming right now, you're probably exactly who we built Folded for.
Do I have to be home when my Folder is there?
Not at all! You'll need to be home for your initial walk-through, but after that, it's totally up to you. Most of our clients are not home when we are there. Whether you prefer to be there or out enjoying your free time, we'll work around your schedule and comfort level.
Will I get the same person each week?
Yes! You'll have the same person every single time, they genuinely become a part of your village. Check out our Meet the Team page to learn more about our amazing Folders. The only time you'll see a different face is if your regular Folder is out sick or taking some well-deserved time off. If your dedicated Folder cannot be there, we try our best to find coverage. We are a small team that knows each other well, and we also keep record of your client notes so we share that if a different Folder is covering.
Can I skip a week (or more) if I am out of town?
Absolutely! We understand that vacations, holidays, and the flu happen.
Each household receives 4 complimentary skips per calendar year to use however you'd like.
After your 4 complimentary skips have been used, any additional skipped visits will incur a space-holding fee equal to 50% of your regular visit rate. This allows us to reserve your dedicated spot on our schedule and ensure your Folder is available when you return.
Is there a minimum time commitment?
As we get to know your home, your preferences, and the little details that matter to your family, each visit becomes more seamless and helpful than the last.
We ask for an initial 6-week commitment to give us the opportunity to settle in, learn your routines, and create the kind of support that truly makes a difference in your week.
After the initial commitment period, service continues on a week-to-week basis. Should you ever need to cancel your service, we simply ask for two weeks' notice.
How does billing work?
At the beginning of each month, you'll receive a QuickBooks invoice for services completed during the previous month. For example, your January visits would be invoiced in early February.
Payments can be made securely online, and many clients choose to enroll in Autopay so it's one less thing to keep track of.
Should I tip my Folder?
Most clients choose to leave a tip for their Folder around the holidays. Whether you do or don't, our team is grateful for the opportunity to support your family.
Do you collect clothing donations?
Yes, we do! We bring all donations to local organizations that work directly with the people in our community. Right now, we donate everything to Our Lady of Mercy Outreach and Lowcountry Orphan Relief. If you have donations, make sure they are in bags, and just ask your Folder to take them off your hands. We do the rest!
Are you bonded and insured?
Folded is bonded and insured, which means we have general liability, workers' compensation, and a surety bond. Giving our employees and you peace of mind is our priority!
How do you ensure client confidentiality?
Client confidentiality is very important to us. Each of our employees signs a strict NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) to ensure the protection of your sensitive information. We are committed to upholding the trust you place in our services.
How do you know where my family's clothes go?
We get to know your closets and drawers like the back of their hand! During your walkthrough, we jot down all the details in your personal client profile, shirts, socks, underwear, dresses, towels, sheets, washcloths, bathing suits, and everything in between. You'll have the same person each week, so they'll quickly learn where everything belongs. Plus, we keep your profile handy for reference, just in case.
What kind of organization projects do you help with?
We can assist with a variety of organization projects, including tidying up linen closets, refolding clothes in drawers, arranging home décor, decluttering kids’ play areas, and organizing pantries or storage spaces. We focus on practical, everyday organization to help keep your home neat and easy to navigate.
Can I customize what my Folder focuses on?
Absolutely. We encourage clients to prioritize the tasks they want to be addressed during each visit. Whether it’s more focus on organizing, light cleaning, or laundry, our service is flexible to fit your specific needs.
Can you help optimize my current organization setup?
Yes! Our Folders can assess your current organizational systems and offer suggestions to streamline and improve them. Whether it’s making better use of your storage spaces, reorganizing closets, or finding more efficient ways to manage your household items, we’re here to help make your home more functional and organized.
Do you help with designing or installing custom pantries and closets?
No, we do not offer design or installation services for custom pantries or closets. Our Folders focus on organizing and tidying your existing spaces but do not handle custom construction or design projects.
I have pets in my home, will my Folder be comfortable with this?
Absolutely! At Folded, we love our furry family members. Our Folders have no pet allergies and are completely comfortable working around your pets, as long as they are friendly. However, if your pet is aggressive, we kindly ask that you secure them during our visit, just like you would for any other guest.
How do you ensure hygiene and prevent cross-contamination?
At Folded, cleanliness is our utmost priority! We take extensive measures to ensure hygiene and prevent any chance of cross-contamination. Our dedicated team follows strict protocols, and will wear shoe/sock covers, gloves, and even masks upon request, to provide you with peace of mind.
Do you have gift cards?

You're not in my city, can I sign up to get on the waitlist?
